According to a report from Sports Illustrated‘s Pete Thamel, the Shockers are mulling a potential move from the Missouri Valley Conference to the American Athletic Conference. And if the AAC were to extend an offer, Wichita State would reportedly make the change.
The AAC is set to meet about the possibility of adding Wichita State “soon.”
ESPN’s Andy Katz expanded on the report:

Wichita State would accept an invitation to move to the American Athletic Conference from the Missouri Valley Conference if the league decides in the coming weeks and or months to extend that offer, university sources told ESPN on Thursday.
A source with direct knowledge told ESPN on Thursday that the AAC will make a decision on Wichita State soon.

If the AAC extends an offer, Wichita State would join the conference for the 2018-19 college basketball season.
