Could a legend be returning to his old stomping grounds to coach the Georgetown basketball team?
According to reports, former Hoya and perennial NBA all-star Patrick Ewing is a candidate for the team’s head coaching vacancy. Ewing recently interviewed for the job, according to Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports.
Georgetown recently fired head coach John Thompson III after failing to qualify for the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons.
During his career at Georgetown, Ewing was a three-time first-team All-American, two-time Big East Player of the Year, College National Player of the Year, NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and an NCAA champion.
Ewing knows a thing or two about what it takes to succeed with the Hoyas, so his presence could be exactly what Georgetown needs to return to their winning ways.
