Kansas basketball star Frank Mason III is your 2017 Naismith Player of the Year.
It is the latest honor for the senior guard, who also claimed the Oscar Robertson Trophy and AP Player of the Year. This season, Mason helped lead the Jayhawks to a 31-5 record and a regular season Big 12 title. Unfortunately for Kansas, its run ended in the Elite Eight of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Mason finished the year averaging 20.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
Mason edged out Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan, UCLA’s Lonzo Ball and Villanova’s Josh Wright to earn the award as college basketball’s top player.
