One of the breakout stars of the 2017 NCAA Tournament has been Przemek Karnowski.
The seven-foot, 300 pound center from Poland has made his presence felt throughout the tournament and is one of the main reasons Gonzaga has gone as far as it has in the tournament. Creating matchup problems galore, Karnowski uses his size to bully his way towards the rim, but also features impressive basketball acumen and I.Q.
In support of their over-achieving son, the embassy of Poland tweeted out a support for Karnowski, complete with a nod towards his impressive beard.
Go Przemek! 🇵🇱

Evocative of home-comfort, with a tinge of creepy cousin mixed in, the country of Poland is rallying around Karnowski. They hope he will find success in the NBA in the way fellow Polish countryman Marcin Gortat has.
Karnowski, to many young fans of basketball in Poland, represents the future and potential growth of the already popular sport.
Currently, Gortat is the only player in the NBA who is Polish. If Karnowski can come up big in this game, and perform well in pre-draft workouts and showcases, he’ll likely get every opportunity to join him.
