There are very few details surrounding the incident and no arrest has been made.
Police believe the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted and that there was a “shooter.” Anyone with potential information is being urged to contact the West Lafayette Police Department.
Chelf made his way to Purdue as a three-star recruit out of Southlake Carroll High School in Texas in the Class of 2015. The 20 year old stands 6-foot, 185-pounds, according to the Boilermakers roster.
