KJ Lawson wasted no time apologizing for a leaked Snapchat video.
On Thursday, video of the Memphis basketball transfer turned Kansas Jayhawk surfaced in which Lawson had a very direct message for his former head coach Tubby Smith. The video simply featured Lawson shouting, “F*** Tubby!”
In a brief statement released on social media late Thursday night, Lawson apologized for his “immature, thoughtless” words that he says do not reflect who he is.
Lawson also wished Smith and the Tigers the best moving forward.

There is no word on whether new head coach Bill Self will discipline Lawson for his words, but it doesn’t appear that any serious punishment is on the way.
It is exactly what Lawson summed the incident up as: immature and thoughtless.
Hopefully Lawson will take this opportunity to learn from his mistake. At the very least, it teaches a valuable lesson that you need to be very careful who you’re sending stuff to on social media. It can always come back to bite you and in today’s world nothing is private.
