Brett McMurphy is the latest person in the sports world to be impacted by the mass ESPN lay-offs.
On Wednesday, McMurphy confirmed that he has been laid off by the network. The Worldwide Leader’s loss is going to be someone else’s gain, however, with one of the top college football reporters in the nation now a free agent.
ESPN is expected to lay off at approximately 100 people from their roster of on-air talent and reporters/writers.
After 5 great years, I’ve been laid off by ESPN. It was a tremendous opportunity & I enjoyed working w/a lot of really, really good people

This also means ESPN’s college football coverage next season is going to look significantly different.
Without McMurphy gracing the airwaves and Kaylee Hartung previously leaving to take a job with CNN, ESPN will be looking to replace two very prominent faces we’ve become accustomed to seeing on Saturday.
