ESPN Layoffs: Scott Van Pelt Pays Tribute To Laid-Off Colleagues

The ESPN layoffs are here. After months of rumors, the Worldwide Leader began making cuts to people who serve as on-air talent, beat reporters and ESPN.com columnists.
When it’s all said and down, the total number of layoffs is expected to be around 100.
After such a tough day on the Bristol campus, Scott Van Pelt took an opportunity to honor and pay tribute to his colleagues who have been around ESPN for years before Wednesday’s mass exodus.
Van Pelt used his “1 Big Thing” to let his fellow ESPNers of the present and past know that they will always be a part of the family.

The layoffs impacted a number of familiar faces from ESPN.com and the airwaves. It’s always difficult to see so many people losing their jobs after years of hard work, but with the caliber of talent the laid-off ESPNers have, it shouldn’t be long until they land on their feet.
