VIDEO: Eagles Fans Cheer Derek Barnett Selection

This year, the NFL Draft was held in Philadelphia.
Selecting No. 14 overall in this year’s draft, the Eagles finished 7-9 last season and weren’t in need of a quarterback. Their biggest needs were at cornerback, running back and defensive end.
As Goodell walked to the podium to the soundtrack of the Rocky films, he was joined by the Martin Luther King High School Football team.
With the No. 14 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Derek Barnett out of Tennessee.

The hometown Philly fans were going absolutely berserk prior to the announcement of the selection. Once Barnett’s name was called, the reception appeared to be mixed.
Some fans appeared thrilled with the selection, others hoped for something with a little more pizzazz.
Barnett is the first defensive player out of Tennessee taken in the first round since Eric Berry was selected by the Chiefs. That pick has come up roses of Kansas City, and the Eagles would be thrilled if they received production at Berry’s caliber.
