He’s better than Drake! He’s better than Tupac! He’s better than B-Rad from Malibu! Lonzo Ball recently rapped his own lyrics over the beat of Drake’s “Free Smoke.”
The incoming rookie forward out of UCLA is expected to be taken early in the first round of the NBA’s June 22 draft.
While his talent is enough to have people chattering around the league, it’s his outspoke father, LaVar Ball who has helped make Lonzo culturally relevant beyond basketball.
Now, it appears the inaugural Big Baller Brand member is laying the groundwork for a hip-hop career.

Shortly after releasing the Lonzo Ball version of “Free Smokem,” LaVar called DJ Khaled and shouted “No, we the best music!”, then hung up abruptly and attempted to sell the single for $130.
While his father attempts to build an empire for his three sons, Lonzo continues to put scouts and NBA personnel at ease. What this mix-tape says more than anything, is that Lonzo isn’t getting into trouble. He is home, rapping over a popular song, and refraining from saying anything that would make an executive flush while he’s at it.
