Danny Kanell is on the hunt for another job.
Shortly after ESPN began laying off beloved and marquee members of their staff, Kanell’s name was put on the chopping block.
While Kanell is an experienced hand who will find someone to pay him to talk about sports eventually, the reality of being laid off is still frightening.
On Tuesday, Kanell posted a picture that is part heartwarming, but sobering reality.
My daughter's and I keep a notebook where we write back and forth. This is my 8 yr old's latest letter. Brutally honest…yet optimistic!! 😅 pic.twitter.com/C82eEmy4F5

The ‘p.s.’ at the end of the letter is the question that has kept Kanell rolling in be every night.
In the wake of his firing, Kanell has been vocal about the struggles he has faced while trying to find work. On his Instagram account, Kanell thanked the outpouring of support he has received after the news broke that his relationship with ESPN would be terminated. Kanell posted a photo of himself, “suited and booted,” while trying to “get back in the game.”

Hustlin. I honestly wouldn't be out here trying to get back in the game if it wasn't for the supportive comments, emails, snaps, stories, etc. I've read every single one and the amount of people who have opened up about their own challenges and how they've overcome has really been inspirational. So thank you and hope you'll continue to follow along on this journey! #gameface #suitedandbooted
Right now Danny Kanell’s Instagram is a very strange place in the internet. It is loaded with comments offering support and encouragement and good feelings. Very strange for the internet, indeed.
