Absolute joy. That’s the only way to describe what first round selection Takkarist McKinley felt after getting his first paycheck from the Atlanta Falcons.
In a video he posted on his Twitter, McKinley dances to several songs alongside captions that indicate why he is so overjoyed.
It’s hard to imagine how much a paycheck of this magnitude means to someone who has struggled their whole life. McKinley’s signing bonus with the Falcons is worth approximately $5,570,392.
After being selected in the first round, McKinley famously walked up to the stage with a large portrait of his grandmother around his neck.
To see my family struggle everyday growing up and now I can help change that..YES I'M HAPPY😊! Don't worry I'll be this happy getting sacks 🤗 pic.twitter.com/LckhYSEkQ8

Seems like a fun guy.
Now the work for him begins. As a first round selection, he’ll be expected to contribute right away. Only 21 years old, McKinley played his college ball at UCLA. He is originally from Oakland, California and left after the completion of his senior year and entered the NFL draft.
The move appears to have paid off, literally.
