If you thought that Golden State Warriors fans would be happy after going up 2-0 on the Cleveland Cavaliers, think again. LeBron James and J.R. Smith can tell you a different story.
Following Sunday night’s Game 2 loss to the Warriors James and Smith were making their way off the court when a fight broke out in the stands.
Two Warriors fans decided it was time to throw down and the Cavaliers players had a first row seat.
A shoving match ensued and Smith positioned himself in front of James to make sure he would not accidentally get caught up in the altercation.
“It was close, too close,” Smith said after the game, via USA Today Sports. “Yeah, I pushed him. I wanted to be sure he was out of there. He is the prize jewel right there. It doesn’t matter if I get hurt. It matters if he gets hurt.”
Luckily security guards intervened before things get out of hand.
Cleveland returns to the court on Wednesday night at home, looking to erase the ugly performances from the first two games of the series.
Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC with Golden State holding a 2-0 lead.
