The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition is one of the most highly anticipated edition of the year. The 2017 edition didn’t disappoint, and featured a few new faces. One of them was an instant fan favorite: Aly Raisman.
Raisman first gained the publics attention as a two-time Olympian and gold-medalist. Her appearance in the SI Swimsuit issue only furthered her celebrity profile.
On Tuesday, a video that takes us behind the scenes of her photo shoot was posted on the SI Swimsuit YouTube page.
Raisman has been vocal in the past about women not being afraid to show their bodies. Recently, she posted a photo of herself in her bathing suit in her bathroom with this quote.
“Wear whatever makes you feel happy and confident,” Raisman wrote. “Don’t EVER let anyone tell you how you should or shouldn’t dress. We are all entitled to wear what we want. Females do not have to dress modest to be respected.”
This video was posted in February, and is of the same photo shoot. In Raisman’s opinion, it’s a matter of being comfortable in your own skin.
A world class athlete, Raisman is doing well to make a name for herself. By supplementing her prowess on the mat with these types of extracurricular, it’s not surprise so many have become so engrossed by her.
