Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor.
Nobody thought it was going to happen. Now it is. You can officially start placing bets on a fight that you’ll know will take place. On Wednesday, the fight everyone has been hoping for was made official.
Now begins the months of analysis that will trek towards the climactic first round bell. Nobody does it better than John Brenkus of ESPN’s Sports Science.

The Nate Diaz bit at the end there was a little overdramatic. But this is the first bit of analysis that doesn’t flatly say that Conor McGregor has no chance to win the fight.
Brenkus doesn’t endorse the Irish MMA fighter either, though.
So far, McGregor is a huge underdog. You wouldn’t guess it looking at the fight through the lens that Sports Science does, though. McGregor is fast, and appears to pack a stronger wallop than we might have realized. If he can catch Mayweather a few times, he might have enough to put him down.
Hopefully this will be what the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight was supposed to be. Entertaining.
