This is constitutes only bad news for everyone involved. According to a report on the Columbia Tribune Daily, top Missouri basketball recruit Jeremiah Tilmon was arrested on campus by the MUPD.
Campus police pulled Tilmon over after he failed to stay in one lane.
Upon smelling “intoxicants” in the vehicle, he was subjected to a field sobriety test, which he failed.
Tilmon originally committed to Illinois before deciding to attend Missouri. Standing at 6-foot-10, Tilmon was ranked 43rd on ESPN’s Top 100 list. He was the top rated recruit in the state of Illinois and the top recruit in Missouri’s class.
If the Tigers are hoping to have a season that improves on their eight win 2016-17 campaign, Tilmon will have to be involved.
When reached for comment, a spokeswoman for Missouri issued the following statement:
“The Mizzou Men’s Basketball program and head coach Cuonzo Martin are aware of the incident, and the matter will be handled internally,”
Tilmon has only been on campus for a little over two weeks. He arrived on campus on June 3, on time for the Tigers training camp which began two days later on the June 5. There is no definite answer on what the “intoxicant” was at this time.
