Penn State football star Saquon Barkley is the latest college standout to show off his strength in the weight room leading up to his team’s 2017 campaign.
This week, the Nittany Lions took to social media to share video of the star running back power cleaning an impressive 405 pounds.
Barkley is widely regarded as one of the top running backs in the nation and a potential top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Seeing his strength on display is a quick reminder of just how much of an athletic freak he truly is.
The 405-pound power clean set a new Penn State football record.

Barkley is fresh off of a 2016 campaign which included 1,496 yards on the ground and 18 touchdowns.
If he is able to come close to repeating that success in 2017, the Nittany Lions will once again look to be serious contenders in the Big Ten. Judging by his work in the weight room, Barkley’s going to be coming into the season with even more to prove.
