Four-star safety CJ Smith is close to announcing where he will begin his collegiate career.
On Saturday, the 6-foot-2, 193-pound standout from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach dropped his loaded list of five finalists.
Smith, who is ranked as the No. 20 safety in the Class of 2018, has a school representing each of the Power Five conferences among his finalists. Interestingly, Florida, which had received a commitment from Smith earlier this year, did not make the cut.
The five finalists are Louisville, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and South Carolina.
After decommitting from the Gators, the Louisville Cardinals appear to be the front-runner to land his services. Of course, there is plenty of time for Smith to ultimately change his mind once again.
