If you’re Jaheim Oatis, why even bother with high school? When you’re 6-foot-4, weigh 286-pounds, and have scholarship offers from three SEC football programs, you don’t have much to gain from four more years in the public school system.
Except, well, that pesky diploma that’s required to play at the next level.
The freakishly large 8th grade Hercules is a spectacle, and a coaches dream come true. The scariest part of it all is that Oatis probably isn’t done growing yet. He’s already as tall as Dwayne Wade, and weighs as much as LeBron James, yet he’s likely still battling the perils of acne.

While appearing at a camp held by Ole Miss, the teenager impressed with his size and power, but also with his surprising speed.

His performance and promise is enough to net scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Alabama. Not bad.
Wisely, he isn’t limiting himself to just one sport. He also plays baseball and basketball. On the mound, he boasts an 85mph fastball. On the court, you can well guess the teams strategy is pass him the ball and let him bang it off the backboard.
If Oatis is able to keep clear of people who will want to suck him for his natural ability, he’ll go very far. He’s been given the kind of stature most people only dream of, now he just needs to make good on it.
