UFC 214 Embedded: Episode 1


It’s fight week and the UFC 214 Embedded video blogs are beginning to roll out as we draw closer to the highly-anticipated rematch between light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former title holder Jon Jones on Saturday night.

On Monday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship dropped Episode 1 of the behind-the-scenes series which shows Cormier and Jones getting in some last-minute work at their gyms.

Cormier’s American Kickboxing Academy teammate Cain Velasquez makes an appearance on Episode 1, while Jones’ Jackson-Winklejohn teammates Holly Holm and Michelle Waterson also make cameos.

UFC 214 takes place Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Along with the Cormier-Jones title fight, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley defends his belt against Demian Maia in the co-main event and Cris Cyborg battles Tonya Evinger for the vacant women’s featherweight championship.

On Episode 1 of UFC 214 Embedded, former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones pushes himself to reach new levels in his upcoming rematch against bitter rival Daniel Cormier. Reigning champion Cormier trains at American Kickboxing Academy alongside Cain Velasquez for what he knows will be a career-defining bout. After an outdoor workout, Cormier reflects on his passion for the sport of MMA, then heads back to the gym where he and Jones trade barbs on a televised interview. Jones’ teammates Holly Holm and Michelle Waterson join him as he receives a special honor.
