The Minnesota Timberwolves have been working on renovations to their arena since 2013.
With the renovations nearing a close, they decided to make a video that was both promotional, and entertaining. What better way than to poke fun at one of the worlds most legendary fun pokers, Dave Chappelle.
The comedian apparently had a show in Minnesota at the time that the Timberwolves were beginning the renovations, and he stopped off to take some shots on the court. Logic says that at least a few of them had to go in, but you’d never know it by looking at the video they posted on their Twitter handle today.
For those that remember the scrawny, carried away by the wind Dave Chappelle that rocketed to fame and fortune on his Chappelle’s Show years ago, this is a new look. He’s a lot more buff now, and has been enjoying something of a renaissance in his career lately.
Chappelle currently has two new specials on Netflix, each an hour long and featuring entirely different material. Both are excellent.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are as irrelevant as ever, having 12 consecutive losing seasons following the 2016-17 season. They hope to avoid making it a bakers dozen this year, but that appears unlikely.
