Greg Schiano has been around the game of football at a high level for a really long time.
Stints in the NFL coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and as the defensive coordinator for some of the Miami Hurricanes fiercest defenses mean he’s seen as much top-tier talent as anyone in the game.
That’s why what he said about his Ohio State Buckeye’s defense is so scary.
While speaking with the Big Ten Network, Schiano said that the defense at Ohio State is the best group he’s ever coached.

Give Schiano credit for sticking up for his team. You can’t go on television and say “you know our guys are good, but I’ve been around better.”
However, his statement draws noticeable laughter from the BTN panel. After massive turnover heading into the 2017 season, chalk this one up to building up the confidence of a young team. Nobody in the world thinks the Ohio State defense is better than a defense in Miami in the late-90’s, early 2000’s.
