At UFC Rotterdam over the weekend, a star was born in Zabit Magomedsharipov.
The Russian featherweight advanced his record to 13-1 with a second-round submission victory over Mike Santiago at the event, but it was his flashy style that really stole the show.
Magomedsharipov was throwing strikes from every angle throughout the fight, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Here is a small example of the excitement Magomedsharipov provided throughout the night:

And, of course, the finish.

But the biggest move of the bout came when Magomedsharipov gave fans a flashback to the WEC days and the final fight in the promotion’s history between Anthony Pettis and Benson Henderson. It was in that fight that the “Showtime Kick” was born, and Magomedovsharipov brought it back to life on Saturday.
Just check out his handiwork and the set up.

That’s always going to win you some fans.
After the fight, Magomedsharipov called out Conor McGregor teammate Artem Lobov. Whether that fight comes to fruition remains to be seen — Lobov is slated to fight Andre Fili at UFC Gdansk in October — but whenever Magomedsharipov returns to the Octagon you can be sure the fans will be tuning in to see what he does next.
