Last week, Penn State football coach James Franklin took a lot of heat for calling a timeout in an apparent attempt to “ice” the kicker. With a 56-0 lead at the time, it was considered in poor taste.
Franklin addressed the issue by saying that he had the wrong unit on the field at the time, and called the timeout to get the right people lined up.
It was one of the biggest stories in college football at the end of the weekend, making it prime material to be lampooned.
Comedian Keegan-Michael Key, best known for his Comedy Central sketch show “Key & Peele,” took full advantage while appearing on College GameDay from Times Square this Saturday.

Working the crowd; the cast of GameDay clearly love it too. Crazy how much he actually looks like coach Franklin too.
Penn State faces a slightly tougher opponent with the Iowa Hawkeyes this week, and a 56-0 shutout isn’t likely. But a three-touchdown victory against a quality a opponent will tell College Football Playoff voters a lot more than a blowout against Georgia State does.
