Who Will Replace Rick Pitino? Tom Crean Considered An Option

The Louisville basketball program will be in search of a new head coach with news that Rick Pitino is on the outs in the midst of an FBI investigation into a NCAA bribery scandal, but who could replace him?
The Cardinals are currently in search of an interim head coach ahead of the 2017-18 college basketball season and one prominent name continues to surface.
Enter former Indiana Hoosiers head coach Tom Crean.
Crean was a name that immediately surfaced as soon as reports surfaced that Louisville would be looking for Pitino’s replacement.

Crean was fired from Indiana in March. The former Hoosiers head coach never surpassed the Sweet 16 in his nine years with the program, but still is widely regarded as a top-tier coach. Before joining Indiana, he had great success at Marquette.
