The Troy football team spoiled the homecoming party for LSU and its fans in Death Valley on Saturday.
The Trojans marched into Tigers Stadium against No. 22 LSU as huge underdogs, before celebrating their way back to the locker room with a stunning 24-21 victory.
It wasn’t exactly what LSU had planned when the school scheduled Troy for the homecoming game.
In fact, LSU paid Troy a whopping $985,000 for the game, so it made the victory even sweeter for the Sun Belt Conference program.
After the big win, Troy took to Twitter to roast LSU with a tongue-in-cheek tweet.
Hey @LSU, thanks for having us down for homecoming! We really enjoyed it! 😁

Ouch.
Entering Saturday’s game, LSU had won 49 straight non-conference home games. That streak is no more after the worst loss of the Ed Orgeron era which will likely drop the Tigers from the AP Top 25.
