Lonzo Ball seems to keep getting injured right before the Los Angeles Lakers play the Sacramento Kings. Whether you think it’s coincidence, caution or dodging, it appears fans will have to wait a little longer to see this highly anticipated matchup.
The awaited Lonzo Ball and De’Aaron Fox billing might have to wait a little longer.
While speaking to reporters, Lonzo hobbled over and told them that he’d sprained his ankle. After missing the third teams third preseason game, his status for the Lakers matchup against the Kings on Sunday was up in the air.
Twitter didn’t hesitate to jump all over it.
So is Lonzo Ball gonna avoid De'Aaron Fox for the rest of his career?

Lonzo Ball is fearless* and is a competitor at the highest level.
*Unless De'Aaron Fox is playing.

The narrative started after Fox scored 39 points on the UCLA Bruins while he and Lonzo played in college. Then, during the summer league, Ball sat out with an injury when the Lakers faced off against he Kings for the first time.
If the ankle injury he sustained in the second game of the preseason forces him to miss two games, it’s likely a matter of the Lakers protecting their investment from injuring himself further in a meaningless game. The Lakers and Kings will face off plenty of times in the regular season. If Ball comes up lame ahead of those matchups, there might be something to him ducking Fox.
Until then, it’s just coincidence and caution.
