Al Michaels came under fire for a tone deaf joke he made during the Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC between the New York Giants and Denver Broncos.
When getting ready to cut to break, Michaels decided he was going to crack a joke about disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, who is facing multiple sexual assault allegations.
It didn’t go over well and there was immediately backlash on social media.
Of course, that led to Michaels later issuing a half-hearted apology early in the fourth quarter. Michaels simply said his comments were not meant to be taken “in that manner.”

Michaels is one of the best announcers in the game, but his comments and lame apology did not go over well at all. When it comes to sexual assault, it’s no laughing matter.
Michaels should have known better and hopefully he won’t be making any ill-advised comments like this again.
