Week 9 of the college football season is in the books, so ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit has rolled out his latest College Football Playoff projections, picking the top four teams in the nation.
It was a wild weekend as two top five teams suffering defeat, meaning we should see a major shakeup at the top of this week’s polls.
But what does it mean for the current College Football Playoff picture?
While it comes as no surprise, Herbstreit has Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide continuing their strangle-hold on the No. 1 spot. After suffering a loss to Ohio State, which checks in at No. 4, Penn State slips out of their No. 2 spot and surrenders it to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Notre Dame rounds out the top four, with Clemson, Oklahoma and the Nittany Lions on the outside looking in.
