College Football TV Ratings: Penn State-Ohio State Breaks FOX Record

The Ohio State vs. Penn State was as advertised.
Two of the best teams in the country battling for 60 minutes in a closely contested nail-bitter. It was one of the most exciting football games the season. It’s a good thing a record number of people tuned in to watch it.
On Sunday, FOX Sports announced on their Twitter page the game was the most viewed regular season game they’ve ever had on the network, posting a 6.4 overnight metered market rating.
The college football brand continues to thrive, and on Saturday, a cleanly played but physical game left football fans thrilled and satisfied. Nittany Lions supporters might not have been happy with the result, but there is no deny that the game entertained from start to finish.
The Buckeyes victory casts doubt into what would have all but locked up a Big Ten championship, and College Football Playoff selection for the Nittany Lions. Now with a head-to-head victory over Penn State, Ohio State has set themselves up nicely to face Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship, and has separated itself as the likeliest one-loss team to get a College Football Playoff bid.
It was a wild weekend of college football, and the OSU-PSU thriller was the cherry on top.
