The start of the college basketball season is just around the corner. On Thursday, the Associated Press released its preseason women’s poll to give us an idea of where things stand ahead of the 2017-18 season.
As you would expect, UConn tops the poll as the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation.
Texas sits in the No. 2 spot, while the Baylor Bears check in at No. 3.
Last year’s national champion, the South Carolina Gamecocks, check in at No. 4, while the Ohio State Buckeyes round out the top five. Mississippi State, which finished as the national runner-up a season ago, sits at No. 7.
