The division continues. The NFL is facing major challenges on a number of fronts, but their most public battle has been against their own employees. Going back to last year, a number of players have decided that they will take a knee during the National Anthem to protest the violence against African-Americans in the United States.
Somewhere along the way, the intention was lost. Propaganda campaigns successfully turned a peaceful protest and plea for civil justice in the US into an indictment against the country itself.
Protests were twisted and demonized, no longer being about wanting “justice and liberty for all,” but rather a blatant indictment of the country, the flag, and the members of the military.
Many have vowed to never watch another NFL game again, and legendary Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully is one of them.

To much crowd applause, Scully proclaims that he’ll never watch another NFL game again as a result of the protests.
The NFL is battling dwindling viewership numbers, which may or may not be attributed to the protests. Don’t expect things to get any better anytime soon, either. The league currently finds itself in the beginnings of what figures to be a long, and possibly devastating collusion case against Colin Kaepernick.
