The Duke basketball program has scored big on the recruiting trail once yet.
For the third year in a row, the Blue Devils have landed the No. 1 recruit in the nation. R.J. Barrett made that possible when he announced his commitment to Michael Krzyzewski’s squad during a Friday night appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
Barrett chose the Blue Devils over top programs like Arizona, Michigan, Kansas and Indiana.
The 6-foot-7 small forward who stars at Montverde Academy in Florida.
Not only does Barrett’s commitment show Duke’s success on the recruiting trail with the top recruit in three consecutive years, he becomes the fourth No. 1 recruit in five years to join the program.
Perhaps Duke’s success in recruiting is exactly why Coach K recently opened up about not being against the one-and-done rule in college basketball.
