VIDEO: Lions WR Marvin Jones Jr. Auditions For American Idol

The Detroit Lions have enjoyed Marvin Jones’ emergence as a legitimate threat this season.
The 6-foot-2 speedster has put up two straight 100+ receiving yard performances this season, and has hauled in five touchdown passes. He may be on his way to a career year, though it might not be on the football field.
Marvin Jones Jr. recently appeared in front of American Idol judges to show off his little know skill.
Apparently the talented wide receiver has been singing since he was four years old, and is a passion he actively pursues outside of his football career. And despite having a recording studio in the basement of his house, it’s a side of him that not many people know about.
When asked by celebrity judge Katy Perry if he is “always singing in the locker room and stuff,” Jones Jr. declined.
He might be taking requests after his teammates get a look at what he can do.

The smart money for Marvin Jones Jr. is still playing professional football for the Detroit Lions.
But he appears to have more talent than the average hobbyist singer.
It’s too bad singing ability isn’t something they try to measure at the combine, that, combined with his 4.46 40-time might have boosted him higher than the fifth round out of Cal.
