The UFC 217 pay-per-view estimates are in for the Nov. 4 triple-header at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
According to Dave Meltzer of MMA Fighting, the event drew 875,000 pay-per-view buys in North America. The number would make UFC 217 the most successful pay-per-view event of 2017.
The number does not include any figures from Australia or online pay-per-view buys.
UFC 217 was a historic event with all three titles changing hands on the night; and they were all finishes.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk was the first champion to taste defeat on the night, suffering the first loss of her professional career. Jedrzejczyk was TKO’d by new women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas.
Cody Garbrandt also saw the first blemish on his professional record, getting knocked out by rival TJ Dillashaw, who claimed the bantamweight title for the second time in his career.
Finally, in the main event, former welterweight king Georges St-Pierre made a triumphant return by choking Michael Bisping unconscious to earn the middleweight title.
