Three Kansas football players have received punishment for snubbing Oklahoma star Baker Mayfield of a pre-game handshake last weekend.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the three players — linebacker Joe Dineen Jr., defensive tackle Daniel Wise and defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr. — have been stripped of their captaincy.
None of the players will miss any game action.
The move mirrors one made by the Sooners, which stripped Mayfield of his captaincy ahead of the final home game of his college career.
Beaty says Dineen, Wise, Armstrong will not be captains this week following Mayfield handshake snub. Beaty says that will be extent of public punishment. Those guys are available to start.
