Michigan Football: Wolverines Working On Giving Jim Harbaugh A Lifetime Contract

The Michigan football program is thrilled with what Jim Harbaugh has done in a few short years.

They might not have won a National Championship, but they’re a perennial contender in the Big Ten, graduation rates are soaring, and the student-athletes are leaving the program more equipped than ever for the “real world.”

With all that in mind, it’s no surprise that the Wolverines are looking to lock up Harbaugh long-term. Like, really long-term.

According to Brady Quinn, the University of Michigan is working on extending Jim Harbaugh a “lifetime deal.”

Nothing is imminent, and the report can’t be totally verified. Harbaugh remains an enigma, and only days ago there was speculation that he might be bolting for the NFL. But if Quinn proves to be correct, it would be unlike any other deal anywhere in college sports.

Harbaugh has always gone against the grain, and in an atmosphere where coaches can be fired for having one bad season, a lifetime contract with Michigan would fly in the face of that trend.
