Tensions were running high in Texas. The Baylor Bears and TCU Horned Frogs are old rivals, and there is no love lost between them. After what transpired on the field earlier in today’s game, it appears there isn’t much mutual respect either.
After some “extra-curricular activity” along the Baylor sideline led to a benches clearing brawl, the referees didn’t spare the rod. Every player on both teams a penalty.
Check out how it all went down:

Big fight just broke out between TCU and Baylor. TCU got the penalty for entire bench joining in, although from the looks of it, so did Baylor. pic.twitter.com/AX5IDXPKZD

Everybody on TCU & Baylor just got a penalty.
I’m not over exaggerating. Everybody on both teams. pic.twitter.com/nORYP3ffa6

I guess it’s just easier to give everyone a penalty. Otherwise it would take forever reviewing the footage on the sideline to see who stayed back and who was in the thick of it.
The hometown Horned Frogs don’t like it, but both teams had it coming.
The penalty would have little outcome on the game, though. The Horned Frogs would cruise to a 45-22 victory over Baylor and retain in-state bragging rights for another year.
This is only the beginning of rivalry weekend, but if it’s a harbinger of things to come, we are all in for a wild ride of college football.
