LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball signed to play professional basketball overseas with Lithuanian club Vytautas Prienai on Monday. The club is coached by a man known as “The LaVar Ball of Lithuania,” so there was immediate speculation regarding how great a of a relationship head coach Virginijus Seskus and Ball family will have.
There’s also the fact that the coach speaks no English.
If you ask former Wisconsin basketball player Ben Brust, who played against Vytautas Prienai during his brief stint in the Lithuanian league, the move is a “disaster waiting to happen.”
Brust believes the Balls will be in for some culture shock and also shared a photo of the team’s gym.
The Ball’s to Lithuania is a disaster waiting to happen (I played there for a year and hated it). This is a picture of the teams gym that the Ball brothers would play at. Not exactly BIG BALLER material #BBB pic.twitter.com/STkQ57YRS5

Another former college basketball player, Billy Baron who played at Canisius, explained his relationship with Coach Seskus while he also played in the Lithuanian league. According to Baron, Seskus told him through an assistant coach that he would not see much playing time because they were unable to communicate.
He had me my rookie year for a different club there, told me through our assistant during training camp that he wouldn’t play me much because he couldn’t speak to me.

We just hope that “Ball in the Family” returns for a season 2 that highlights ‘Gelo and ‘Melo’s time overseas; along with any communications between LaVar Ball and Seskus.
