Texas Tech defensive back Justus Parker watched his dream become a reality on Monday.
Parker, who sealed the Red Raiders’ win over the Texas Longhorns with a late interception — his fourth of the year — learned from former Texas Tech wide receiver Danny Amendola and his current New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski that he is now on scholarship.
The two Patriots delivered the news in a special video for Parker that head coach Kliff Kingsbury played for the team.
The room erupted with applause upon learning the great news.

This season, Parker recorded 42 tackles, four interceptions and four forced fumbles.
The sophomore will be returning to Lubbock next season as one of ten returning starters on the Red Raiders defense.
Congratulations to Parker on the scholarship! As they always say, hard work pays off.
