Washington State Football: Mike Leach Gets New 5-Year Deal

Washington State football coach Mike Leach was named as a potential candidate for a number of high-profile job vacancies, but he ultimately decided to return to the Cougars.
As a reward for his loyalty, Leach has received a new five-year contract from the university.
Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated was first to report the news.
In six years at Washington State, Leach has a record of 38-17. This season, the Cougars finished with a record of 9-3. When you include his tenure at Texas Tech from 2000-09, the head coach has compiled an overall record of 122-80.
Next up for No. 18 Washington State is a meeting with the No. 16 Michigan State Spartans in next week’s Holiday Bowl.
Kickoff is set for Thursday, Dec. 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
