The Penn State football program scored a big win on the first day of the early signing period.
On Wednesday, five-star defensive end Micah Parsons announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions, choosing James Franklin’s program over Oklahoma and Ohio State.
Parsons was the top-ranked uncommitted player in the Class of 2018.
He announced his decision with a video on social media.

Parsons is the top-ranked weakside defensive end in the Class of 2018 and the No. 4 overall prospect in the nation.
He was previously recruited by Ohio State, but the Buckeyes decided to stop recruiting the top prospect after self-reporting a violation during his visit to Columbus while ESPN’s College GameDay was in town. Parsons met with Kirk Herbstreit and Eddie George, Buckeyes legends who are now members of the media, leading to the violation.
But Urban Meyer’s loss is James Franklin’s gain and Parsons will now stay in state to proudly represent the blue and white.
