UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is set to take on Edson Barboza in the co-main event of UFC 219 this weekend.
Ahead of the bout, fans are keeping a close eye on Nurmagomedov’s weight due to multiple issues in the past.
However, with UFC 219 just a few days away, it looks like there is nothing to worry about thanks to nutritionist Tyler Minton, who works with a number of top UFC athletes like light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and featherweight title holder Max Holloway.
Minton shared a photo of Nurmagomedov this week and the undefeated fighter looks absolutely shredded.
“The UFC wants fighters no higher than 10% of their weight class on arrival. Two meals and a lot of water later, @TeamKhabib weighs in more than a pound UNDER,” Minton wrote on Twitter.
That means Nurmagomedov showed up to Vegas weighing 169.5 pounds, 14 pounds above the 155-pound weight limit he will have to hit at weigh-ins on Friday.

Let’s hope things continue going as planned.
UFC 219 takes place this Saturday, Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, Cris Cyborg will put her women’s featherweight championship on the line against former women’s bantamweight title holder Holly Holm.
