There is plenty of bad blood between UFC veteran Ian McCall and Manel Kape, who are set to face off on Friday as Rizin’s two-day New Year’s Eve event kicks off.
The two men will meet in the quarterfinals of the Bantamweight World Grand Prix.
On Thursday, McCall and Kape came face-to-face at the official weigh-ins and things went about exactly as you would expect.
As the two men posed for the cameras, Kape smacked McCall in the back of the head. McCall was not going to let that slide, so he fired back with a left hand.
Kape attempted to return fire, but Rizin officials stepped in to separate the men before things escalated any further.
Here is how it all went down:

If McCall is victorious over the 8-1 Kape, he will advance to the bantamweight World Grand Prix semifinals on Dec. 31 where he will face the winner of winner of Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Gabriel Oliviera. The winner of that bout will then fight again in the finals later that night.
