It is New Year’s Eve, which mean we are less than 24 hours away from ringing in 2018.
As is always tradition on New Year’s Eve, ten of thousands of people will be heading to New York City to witness the iconic ball dropping in Times Square.
It is one of the most popular and recognized New Year’s Eve traditions in the world.
It will be freezing cold outside, but you can still count on many people coming together to bring in the new year and say goodbye to 2017.
You can watch the ball drop online on a number of sites including TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, Livestream.com/2018 and TimesSquareBall.net. On your mobile device you can check out TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, and TimesSquareBall.net or download the Times Square Ball App.
There will also be live broadcast on ABC, FOX, CNN and FOX News, so you can choose your network of choice.
On FOX, comedian Steve Harvey will be joined by Andra Day, with musical guests like Maroon 5, Zac Brown Band and Flo Rida. ABC will feature Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy, with Mariah Carey looking to redeem herself after last year’s disastrous performance.
Perhaps the most entertaining show will be on CNN, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, who replace Kathy Griffin after she was removed from the broadcast due to a controversial tweet about President Donald Trump. CNN also sends various anchors across the country to observe different traditions, with Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon always bringing laughter from New Orleans.
