UPDATE: Mackenzie Dern will make her promotional debut at UFC 222 against Ashley Yoder on March 3 in Las Vegas.
Mackenzie Dern is finally set to make her UFC debut in early 2018.
According to UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby, the jiu jitsu ace and undefeated prospect will be competing inside of the Octagon within the next few months.
Dern will debut in the UFC in the strawweight division, despite some struggles to make 125-pounds in the past.
Shelby made the announcement during an interview with UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin at a MetroPCS event leading up to UFC 219.

Dern, who is the world’s top female BJJ black belt competitor by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), trained with former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson at The MMA Lab for her debut in 2017. She has since spent time training at Alliance MMA.
Dern currently sits at 5-0 after three professional wins in 2017, including two submissions and a decision. Early in her career, Dern flashed her incredible jiu jitsu credentials with an Imanari choke finish over current UFC flyweight Montana Stewart.
There is no word on who Dern will face in her UFC debut, but there will be plenty of attention on her and some high expectations when she steps into the cage in 2018.
