It is only Jan. 3, but we already have an early contender for Knockout of the Year thanks to Japanese flyweight Satoshi “Tiger” Date.
Date was facing off against Shunsuke Kazuki, who was making his professional debut, at a special rules match at a Ganryujima event in Urayasu, Japan.
After finding some distance from his opponent, Date came flying in for an remarkable and perfectly-timed “rolling thunder” knockout that immediately flattened his opponent, who was later take from the mat on a stretcher.
