Awards season is about to kickoff in Hollywood, with the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards set to take place on Sunday night in Beverly Hills.
While all eyes will be on the awards ceremony to see who brings home the top honors on the big and little screens, there will also be plenty of attention on the arrivals as the stars show off their looks on the red carpet.
“The HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet Live” two-hour show will air leading up to the start of the Golden Globes on NBC.
This year, a large number of stars are expected walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes dressed in black. It is a political statement to show solidarity with those who have spoken out about sexual harassment in the industry.
“Wearing black is an opportunity to talk about all the other things that we’re doing. It’s less about trying to reclaim the red carpet — the red carpet is what it is,” Scandal star Kerry Washington said, via the Los Angeles Times. “We’re saying that we are three-dimensional, fully realized human beings as women. We are participants in this entertainment industry, and we have something to say.”
The awards, which will be hosted by Seth Meyers, air live at the same venue on Jan. 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
