College Football Freshman All-American Team Named For 2017 Season

The 17th annual Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team was announced for the 2017 college football season on Monday afternoon.
Included on the select list of players are two who will be taking the field for tonight’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm and right tackle Andrew Thomas are the national title participants to make the cut.
Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley was selected as the FWAA First-Year Coach of the Year after leading the Sooners to a College Football Playoff berth.
The Big Ten led the FWAA with six players selected, followed by the SEC (5), Pac-12 (4) and the ACC, Mountain West Conference and Conference USA, each of which had three players. There was one player from an independent school.
