The college football world has been struck with tragedy again this week, this time the news directly impacts the Kansas State football program.
Late Wednesday night, reports surfaced that Matthew Snyder, the grandson of legendary Wildcats head coach Bill Snyder and son of assistant coach Sean Snyder, died after emergency personnel were called to his family home in Manhattan, according to the Manhattan Mercury.
Snyder was just 21 years old.
For the past seven seasons, Matthew’s father has served as associate head coach/special teams coordinator and director of football operations for the program under Bill Snyder.
It’s a tragedy that strikes the Wildcats program to the core.
At this time, there are very few details surrounding Matthew Snyder’s death but we will update the post with more information as it becomes available. Kansas State has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Snyder family and all of those impacted by the death at this time.
